DAY 01: NAIROBI

Arrive Nairobi Airport, meet and greet and transfer to the Spurwing Guest House. Booked on Bed & Breakfast

 

DAY 02: NAIROBI – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Depart Nairobi for Amboseli National Park via Namanga on the Kenya / Tanzania border. The drive takes about 5 Hours. The Park is located on the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, the weather being hot and dry for most of the year though the Park experiences seasonal rains. Arrive in time for lunch at the Amboseli Sopa lodge and proceed on for an afternoon game drive which provides a chance to see Elephants, Lions, Buffalo, Hippos, a wide variety of Bird Life and many other plains game, dinner and overnight at the Amboseli Sopa Lodge www.sopalodges.com

 

DAY 03: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Early morning game drive when Mt. Kilimanjaro usually appears from its mantle of clouds with a good chance to take pictures of the Mountain with Wildlife at the background, return for lunch followed by an afternoon siesta; Later proceed for an evening game drive, dinner and overnight at the Amboseli Sopa Lodge www.sopalodges.com

 

DAY 04: AMBOSELI N. PARK – MOUNT KENYA

Early depart Amboseli with picnic lunch for Mount Kenya found in the area of Central Part of Kenya via Nairobi. The drive from Amboseli to Mount Kenya is through the beautiful surroundings as you get into the Kikuyu Farmlands along the way where one can see pineapple and coffee plantations. Arrive at Mountain Lodge www.serenahotels.com in time for lunch and a good relaxation. Spend the afternoon watching animals from your room Balcony as they come to salt lick and drink water. Dinner and overnight.

 

DAY 05: MOUNT KENYA – SAMBURU GAME RESERVE

Depart Mount Kenya for Samburu Game Reserve situated at the Southern corner of Samburu district with game drive on the way. Samburu is generally a hot place with cool night’s temperatures between 18 – 30 degrees C. On arrival, check into the Samburu Sopa Lodge for lunch & after a brief relaxation proceed on for an evening game drive. Samburu is rich in game with rare species found; Lions, Elephants, Gerenuk, Grevy’s Zebra, Oryx, the Reticulated Giraffe and other plains game. Return to the Samburu Sopa Lodge, www.sopalodges.com for dinner and overnight

 

DAY 06: SAMBURU G. RESERVE

Early morning game drives return to the Lodge for breakfast, after breakfast another game drive, return for lunch at the Lodge. Relaxation at the Lodge followed by an evening game drive, dinner and overnight at Samburu Sopa Lodge, www.sopalodges.com

 

DAY 07: SAMBURU G. RESERVE – NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Depart after breakfast past the northern tip of the Aberdare Mountains to descend into the Great Rift Valley where Lake Nakuru is located. This is a shallow strongly alkaline lake set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grassland and is home to thousands of Flamingoes, Buffalo, Lions, Zebra, Giraffe & other animal & Bird Species. Arrive at Nakuru Flamingo Hill Tented Camp for lunch and after a short rest proceed on for an evening game drive and afterwards return for dinner and overnight at the Nakuru Flamingo Hill Camp www.flamingohillcamp.com.
 

DAY 08: LAKE NAKURU – LAKE NAIVASHA

Pre-breakfast game drives and after breakfast depart for Lake Naivasha arriving in good time for lunch at the Naivasha Sopa Lodge. Lake Naivasha is an unusual lake, not having any known outlet that is normally a prerequisite for fresh water lake. The lake edge has dense vegetation which in turn supports a thriving bird population including the grey – capped warbler, speckled weaver, brimstone canary and red billed firefinch – overall there are more than 350 bird species in the area. Afternoon visit to Hells’ Gate located just beyond Lake Naivasha. It is a heaven for ornithologists and rock climbers alike; the cliffs of hells gate are breeding ground for Vultures, Verreaux’s eagles, Augur buzzard and thousand of swifts; 103 thousand species have been recorded in the park. Special locations to view include Fischer’s Tower, formerly a volcano plug, the central tower and the Njorowa Gorges. Natural steam vents rise from fissures in the volcanic rock. DAY 09: LAKE NAIVASHA – MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

After breakfast depart for the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve driving through the spectacular Great Rift Valley via Narok town, the major Masai administration centre. Masai Mara is considered to be one of Kenya’s most precious wildlife sanctuaries; this big game reserve has one of Africa’s greatest concentrations of wild animals. Plain game can be found here in staggering numbers that in turn supports a tremendous predator population. You arrive for lunch at the Mara Sopa Lodge. During your afternoon game drive you will have an opportunity to see herds of buffaloes, lions, impalas, giraffes, elephants and other wildlife. DAY 10: MASAI MARA G. RESERVE

This day is spent game viewing across the rich tree studded grassland and rolling hills. The famous Masai Mara is renowned for its great herds of plains game that abound in plenty. DAY 11: MASAI MARA – NAIROBI

After breakfast depart for Nairobi & arriving in the afternoon. Lunch on this day is not included. Drop off at the Nairobi Airport for International Flight Home.
