4 Days Lake Naivasha
Day One
08H00 – Depart Nairobi for Mount Longonot with picnic lunch. This jagged Mountain is an extinct volcano and crater forest with a scenic landscape. The sides of the Mountain have beautiful V-shaped valleys and ridges. Climb the Mountain for 3 – 4 Hours and afterwards depart for Lake Naivasha Camp Carnellys. Afternoon at Leisure, dinner and overnight at the Campsite.
Day Two
LAKE NAKURU DAY TRIP
After early breakfast depart Lake Naivasha for Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive in time for a full morning game drive. Lake Nakuru is a shallow strongly alkaline lake set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grassland and is home to thousands of Flamingoes, Buffalo, Lions, Zebra, Giraffe & other animal & Bird Species. Picnic lunch in the Park and an afternoon game drive. Afterwards proceed on and return to Camp Carnellys for dinner and overnight.
Day Three
HELLS GATE + CRESCENT ISLAND VISIT
Early rise and after breakfast hire Bicycles and ride in this Park which is a haven for ornithologists and rock climbers; the cliffs of Hells’ Gate are breeding grounds for Vultures, Verreaux’s Eagles, Augur Buzzard and thousands of Swifts and other species of birds. Special Locations to view include Fischer’s Tower, formerly a Volcano Plug, the Central Tower and Njorowa Gorges. Natural steam vents rise from fissures in the volcanic rock. Ride back to Camp Carnellys for lunch. After lunch drive to Crescent Island and have a walk. 01 hour Boat ride on this fresh water Lake that supports dense vegetation, which in turn supports a thriving bird population. Drive back to Camp Carnellys for dinner and overnight.
Day Four
LAKE NAIVASHA – KIAMBETHU TEA FARM – NAIROBI
Breakfast at leisure. Afterwards depart for Kiambethu Tea Farm. This has been the family home of one earliest tea growers in Kenya amidst colorful gardens. A cup of tea or coffee on arrival while the process of making tea is informally explained. This is followed by an opportunity to see tea in the field. Take a walk in indigenous forest with a resident guide, watch the Columbus monkeys close up and wander in the gardens, which are a home to a wide variety of birds. Return to the house to enjoy a pre-lunch drink while noticing the sweeping views across the tea fields to the Ngong Hills. Lunch is served with vegetables directly taken from the farm. Afterwards depart for Nairobi arriving in the early afternoon.
